How easy it is to move
By using a professional company, you do not have to concern yourself with the full planning of the operation, the packing and the unpacking as CBS Removals can help with it all or some as required.
Not leaving everything until the last minute can help considerably in the smoothness of the transfer, and we would like to share some hints and tips with you to enable this to happen.
Unpacking in a new location can take quite a long time, particularly if decorating and carpeting are still required. So, make sure that anything you need straight away is packed together in clearly marked boxes.
Create a tick list so that nothing is missed and start at the highest point of the house. I know it can look daunting at first, but the list will definitely help.
See if people have any moving boxes that they would like to recycle, or we can provide this service for you. We can simply carry out a free site survey, or you can send videos to us to calculate what packaging you would need. We can also supply the packaging and labour to save you another task.
Relocators generally sort through their current contents to see what they do not want to go with them. Call our Waste Services team to talk about adding this service to your bespoke moving plan.
Label, label, label – Memories are good, but when your box numbers increase it can turn into a bit of a mind melting moment. Labelling will help with easy placement of the boxes on delivery and make for easy unpacking. It would be ideal to carry all personal belongings, such as passports, birth certificates and wills in your own vehicle for safekeeping.
Heavy boxes will be loaded into the vehicles first so that the weight will not damage the contents of the much lighter ones.
Package fragile items in newspaper or bubblewrap for additional protection before placing them in a box. Empty all your drawers and cupboards, including wardrobes of content. Clothing can be bagged or packed into suitcases. Dismantle larger items as much as possible for ease of moving.
We can disconnect your gas oven, washing machines and dishwashers but please make sure that your fridge freezer has been emptied and defrosted.
Make sure any deliveries, such as milk or food deliveries have been cancelled at your address. You have diverted all your mail and your friends and family know of your new address.
Anything else you need to do will fall into place naturally. Last but not least, make sure you have milk and sugar for your welcomed cups of tea when you finally relax in your new location.
